"BIGGER STRONGER FASTER"

"BIGGER STRONGER FASTER" is the name of a documentary about steroids. This documentary can really enlighten you on everything that you didn't know about steroids. It was one of the best documentaries that i've seen. This documentary really shows you that as americans we need steroids.

It may sound wrong to say that we need steroids, but we really do. A lot of our main entertainment is related to steroids. All of the Arnold Shawrtznegger movies, Sylvester Stallone,  hulk hogan in wrestling, and especially in the world of sports. Even if no one wants to admit it, in some way everyone likes the use of steroids.

Roid Rage

http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-roid-rage.htm
http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/features/roid-rage-14-questions-and-answers

Roid rage is what happens to people who take large doses of steroids. "Roid rage is a term given to people who act in a very aggressive or hostile manner." Many murders and attacks have happened due to the overuse of steroids. In the media, they make roid rage more complex and confusing than it actually is.

Roid Rage "provokes overreactions via a stimulus that normally doesn't produce such a severe reaction." This is the highest of the levels of behavioral problems that steroids could cause. To show some of the behaviors steroids could contribute to heres this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsFBYq_h_J0&feature=related)

Steroids affects Business

Businesses are affected by steroids because many businesses (mostly dietary supplement businesses) flaunt people that use steroids to promote other things. For example, Hydroxycut, they advertise a man who has a bunch of muscles and say that he uses Hydroxycut. Even if he really does use Hydroxycut sometimes it isn't the real reason he looks the way he does. Steroids is what most of the people in supplement commercials are using and thats the reason they look they way they do not the actual product they're promoting.

I believe that even though they didn't say the individual in the commerical didnt use steroids that they should still let the audience know that they did. That way people wouldnt get high hopes knowing that one day they would look like the person in the advertisement, when the actual product they were given doesnt provide the same results steroids do.

Gregg Valentino

Greg Valentino is a bodybuilder who arms are possibly the biggest in the world. His arms got so big because of all the steroids he took, Valentino took more than the regular dose of steroids every time he would inject himself. Also, he would reuse unclean needles to inject himself. By using those unclean needles he ended up infecting his arms. The infection led to large amounts of blood and pus within his arms.

When Valentino realized that his infection had gotten really bad he decided to take care of it, himself. As began surgery on himself large amounts of blood and pus was dripping out everywhere. This self operation led to a trip to the emergency room and a near death experience. The biggest thing that Valentino realized after this event was that one arm was bigger than the other, he wasn't concerned about how his body was internally affected, he was only concerned about what about happened externally. In my opinion Gregg Valentino should stop using steroids all together and do the best he can to get his arms back to a normal size.

Kids and Steroids

This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOUsrpT3gXY) shows and tells you about affects of steroids on people and some statistics involving steroids. For instance, steroids can affect your temper and can cause joint deterioration. The man described in the video, "ripped the door out of the frame." A statistic was that 1 in 45 12th graders have admitted to taking steroids. Also, it is very easy to get steroids all you have to do is order them online. Lastly, the man who is focused on mostly in this video, Matt Barnes, even with all the problems steroids has caused is excited to start using them again even if it kills him.

I can understand if someone was willing to do anything to achieve their goals would get steroids since it is so easy to obtain them. But, if you've experienced all these problems and really negative side effects why would you want to continue taking them. Also, if taking them again could kill you why would you be excited to start using steroids again, even if it will help you doing what you love, you could end up dying when you're only twenty years old. I believe that Matt Barnes should just give up steroids all together and opt for more healthier and safer supplements to aid in his bodybuilding career.

Steroids and Sports

The man in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DukyZiY_K5w) believes that steroids should be in sports. In his opinion he believes that more people would rather watch players using steroids over players who didn't if they were unaware of who was using steroids. For example, major league baseball became more popular when a lot of players starting using steroids. This is because fans want to see records broken and records get broken quicker with the help of steroids.

I disagree that steroids should be used in sports. Sports is about fair competition an whoever is more skilled and has trained harder will win. If a bunch of players on a team started using steroids and played against teams that didn't use steroids it would be unfair. I do agree however that the majority of fans would rather watch sports that highly involve steroids if they were unaware that the steroids were being used. The reason being that most fans don't enjoy the little things that happen in sports they want to see exciting and thrilling moments ALL THE TIME.

What, Why, and How

Anabolic Steriods are artificially produced hormones that are like androgen which is the male sex hormones in the body.

The majority of athletes take steroids in order to improve their athletic performance. Also, steroids can increase your muscle an reduce your body fat. Many athletes don't know that the negatives affects out weigh the positives though, for example: infertility, breast development, shrinking of the testicles, male-pattern baldness, severe acne and cysts, and that's only some of the male affects. The use of steroids in athletes has become so common that drug tests are given out more frequently. But there are some steroids that can't be detected through the drug tests.

Steroids are taken through injections or through pill form. Most people take steroids in a series of weeks and months, which is the safest way besides not taking steroids at all. Steroid abusers usually take 10 to 100 times more steroids that what someone who needed steroids for medical use would take.

Introduction

In this blog I'm going to be talking about the affects of steroids. Mostly about how athletes and athletic organizations have been affected by the use of steroids. In addition to how fans have reacted towards steroids being used in sports. I found this an interesting subject to talk about because it was and still is a big issue in sports today. I hoping by doing this I will gain more knowledge on the positive and negative affects of steroids.
